Commission reviews McClelland sign draft and plans commemorative flag presentation for USA 250th

Commission members reviewed a draft of proposed roadside wording for a historical McClelland Cemetery sign and asked Secretary Bruce Collins to obtain a price quote and to note suggested corrections. Chair Lee Embretson will contact the adjoining landowner to confirm whether placing a sign along the property perimeter would be acceptable.

Separately, Ellen Collins noted commemorative flags being produced for the USA 250th celebration. David Beck said he would order a flag and will portray a War of 1812 soldier during a presentation at Reed Cemetery in Sperry Township on June 27. The commission did not record votes for the sign or the flag purchase in the minutes; follow up pricing and vendor details will be presented at the next meeting.
