The council recognized two Georgetown Fire Department crews on June 1 for recent life-saving responses.
Chief Seth Johnson described April 24 call in which Engine 1 (first shift) performed CPR and deployed an AED on an unresponsive patient with no pulse; while enroute to hospital the patient achieved return of spontaneous circulation and has since made a full recovery. The crew included Battalion Chief Chad Heisel, firefighters Chase Philpot, Bronson Williams, Braxton Web and probationary firefighter Tanner Hill, Chief Johnson said.
A second April call involved a person pinned beneath a motorcycle; Engine 1 (second shift) crews including Captain Lincoln Bruent, firefighter Josh Ford and probationary firefighter Logan Downey removed the motorcycle, performed life-saving measures and transferred care to Georgetown Scott County EMS; staff reported the patient again made a full recovery.
Mayor and council offered formal thanks for the crews
nd for the city's emergency-response capacity.
