The Town of Sellersburg Redevelopment Commission on June 1 authorized a reimbursement to Hutton Sellersburg of $150,000 as part of a $200,000 closeout reimbursement for State Highway 60 intersection improvements.
A staff presenter said the development agreement with the project developer called for up to $200,000 in reimbursements; Platform Development committed $50,000, leaving $150,000 to be paid from the redevelopment commission’s funds. The presenter also said INDOT had signed off on the signal improvements and recommended establishing a $30,000 non-reverting account to cover utility payments tied to the project.
Commissioners discussed the paperwork and confirmation from INDOT; no commissioners raised objections. A motion to authorize the reimbursement and proceed with accounting adjustments passed on a unanimous voice vote.
The action completes the closeout packet for the intersection project under the existing development agreement; staff said they will coordinate with the town treasurer’s office to process the reimbursement and to receive the contribution from Platform Development.
The commission took the vote during its regular meeting; the public comment period earlier in the meeting included a request from a resident to table agenda items for additional review, but commissioners proceeded with the reimbursement authorization after confirming documentation.
