Council preview: FY2027 budget workshop tonight; staff clarifies advisory‑committee seat count

Punta Gorda City staff reminded council members that a FY2027 budget workshop will be held that evening, with department heads and managers presenting departmental information and council members able to ask questions.

Staff said several managers will present and that Kristen will cover for a couple of absent department heads to maintain continuity in the Wednesday presentation. The workshop was described as the primary opportunity to ask department-level questions before the council hears the item at the regular meeting.

Separately, a council member raised an apparent discrepancy in the seat count for the Burnt Store and Isles Canal Advisory Committee shown in an attachment. Staff explained that the Granicus boards-and-committees summary in the attachment displays total seats without distinguishing alternates, which is why the attachment shows six total seats. Staff clarified the committee structure as five regular seats plus one alternate.
