Emergency Management Director Brandon Roberts and Town & Country EMS Director Duke Koerperich asked the Brown County Commission on May 29 to consider a memorandum of understanding to improve EMS dispatch coordination in areas near the Nemaha County line.
Roberts and Koerperich described elements under consideration including mutual aid agreements, GIS mapping, dispatch procedures, response-time coordination and the potential transition of Sabetha City dispatch services in Nemaha County that could affect call routing near the county boundary. The discussion was informational; the commission did not take action on the proposed MOU during the session.
Roberts also updated commissioners on a recent wildfire deployment to western Kansas, including which personnel participated and the expected reimbursement procedures through Emergency Management coordination. The minutes record an update on reimbursement and coordination but list no specific dollar amounts or reimbursement deadlines.
The commission received the briefings and asked questions about response times and interagency coordination; no motions or votes were recorded on EMS dispatch changes or wildfire reimbursements.
