The Dawson County Board of Commissioners on Sept. 16 authorized several agreements and purchases and handled routine administrative business, including filing official receipts, approving Treasurer's Receipts and approving vendor claims.
Chairman PJ Jacobson was authorized to sign a CASA/Gosper County interlocal agreement after a unanimous vote. The board later approved a Tyson agreement authorizing work in county right-of-way, again by unanimous vote. Commissioners also voted to certify the formation of the "30 Mile" Irrigation District; the minutes record the certification motion passed without recorded opposition.
The board approved a request to purchase a polypatcher applicator and polymer-modified pavement repair mastic for transverse cracks using the State Bid contract. Commissioner Everett Hagan moved the purchase and Commissioner E. Dean Kugler seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
Sheriff Gary Reiber appeared to present the August 2013 crime reports; the minutes note his presentation but do not include details of the report. Jen Wolf, listed in the minutes as "Jen Wolf, DAD," presented the DAD annual report; the minutes record the presentation without substantive detail.
Mark Gengenbach of CSTG reported on the county network's status, stating, "It appears everything is working well; when there is a problem that arises, it is being addressed."
Earlier in the session the board filed Official's Receipts (itemized in the minutes) and approved Treasurer's Receipts of $610,588.13. The board also approved claims totaling $334,550.24 across general, road and other county funds; the minutes include detailed vendor line items.
