Town wins $1.531 million LOTCIP grant to build connected trail through Bolton center

James Rupert told the Bolton Fire Commission on Jan. 23 that the Town of Bolton received notification the same day that it was awarded a $1.531 million LOTCIP grant to build a connectivity trail through the center of town. Rupert said the trail will connect Bolton Center School to Bolton High School and provide pathways to town offices, the library and the fire station so people can move between key town facilities without walking on the road.

Commissioners described the award as “pretty exciting” and noted the trail will create multiple pathways through the town center. No design details or construction schedule were recorded in the minutes; the announcement was reported as a communication from a commission member to the board.
