Bayshore Gardens trustees unanimously elect Cori Howell chair during organizational meeting

The Bayshore Gardens Park & Recreation District Board of Trustees unanimously elected Cori Howell as chair at its organizational meeting on Jan. 2, 2026, replacing Dan Rawlinson as the presiding officer for the coming term.

Trustee Dan Rawlinson moved to nominate Cori Howell as chair, and Trustee Skip Wilhoit seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The board then confirmed other officers by unanimous votes: Skip Wilhoit as First Vice Chair (nominated by Howell, seconded by Eric Talman), Dan Rawlinson as Second Vice Chair (nominated by Howell, seconded by Eric Talman), Terry Zimmerly as Treasurer (nominated by Howell, seconded by Wilhoit) and Eric Talman as Secretary (nominated by Howell, seconded by Wilhoit).

The officer elections were conducted by motion and voice vote during the meeting called to order by Chairman Dan Rawlinson. Each nomination was moved and seconded and recorded in the minutes as "Motion Passed, Unanimously." No individual roll-call vote totals were recorded in the transcript beyond the unanimous outcome.

The reorganizational votes set the board’s leadership and cleared the way for committee work and planning for the year. Meeting minutes later note that the board adjourned at 2:35 p.m.
