At the April 22 meeting the Cayce City Council approved a financial participation agreement for the FY27 State Victim Assistance Grant after a motion by Council Member Byron Thomas and a second from Council Member Alice Rose; the approval passed unanimously by roll call vote.
Council also voted to enter the Cayce Historical Museum Commission minutes (March 4, 2026) into the city's record on a motion from Mayor Pro Tem Phil Carter, and appointed Felicia Thomas and Vanessa Mota to two open positions on the Events Committee after a motion by Council Member Byron Thomas and a second by Council Member Tiffany Aull. Both motions passed unanimously by roll call vote.
City Manager Michael Conley summarized upcoming community events announced to the council, including the Cayce Public Safety Foundation Chicken Bog fundraiser (April 23), the Women's Club Hot Flash 5K (May 2), and an Employee Appreciation Luncheon (May 13). Council Member Byron Thomas encouraged participation in community cleanups and noted ongoing work on a potential golf cart ordinance, coordinated with neighboring West Columbia as a possible model.
