Council approves $10,000 contract for American 250 festival attractions, to be fronted by village and reimbursed by grant

Council approved Resolution 10‑2026 to authorize a $10,000 expenditure and contract with Dave and Friends LLC (Cincinnati Circus) to supply festival attractions including a 120‑foot zip line, rock‑climbing wall, and inflatable agility course.

Administrator Justin said the village requested $25,000 in Hamptons County planning-grant funds, was awarded $15,000, and negotiated an adventure pack for $10,000; the contractor will provide staffing and insurance. Justin said the village will front the $10,000 and expects reimbursement under the grant award once post-event documentation is processed.

The resolution passed on a roll call vote with all members present voting yes. Council discussed event safety and logistics: the fire department and pyrotechnician will coordinate permits and on‑site inspections for the fireworks, and the village plans to have at least one ambulance and additional officers at the event.

What happens next: staff will execute the contract, finalize vendor commitments, and file grant reimbursement paperwork. The event’s entertainment lineup, vendor outreach and sponsorships are being finalized as part of the American 250 celebration.
