The New Canaan Town Council voted unanimously on May 27 to confirm Ryan Sidala to a three‑year term on the town’s audit committee, a seat that will expire Dec. 1, 2028.
Robin Prior introduced Sidala and strongly endorsed the appointment, citing Sidala’s professional credentials. “He’s a CPA. He’s an auditor. He’s a partner in the New York office of KPMG,” Prior said, adding: “You don’t get to be a partner in KPMG by accident.” Prior told the council he had solicited candidates in the New Canaanite and recommended Sidala after interviews with several applicants.
Sidala briefly described his family and reasons for serving. “My family and I moved to New Canaan about four and a half years ago,” he said, noting his children’s schools and volunteer activities. Council members praised his experience; one member thanked him for stepping up while still employed.
After discussion, a councilor moved to confirm Sidala’s appointment; Kim Norton seconded the motion. The chair called the question and the motion passed unanimously. The council identified a quorum at roll call earlier in the meeting and recorded the motion as approved without opposition.
No additional conditions or follow‑up tasks were assigned during the vote. Sidala was welcomed by the council following the confirmation.
