Foxborough Planning Board retains officers, appoints design‑review liaison and recommends alternate

The Foxborough Planning Board on May 28 voted to keep its current officers and made a series of procedural appointments.

A board member moved to leave the current positions as they stand; the motion was seconded and the board approved retaining Kevin Weinfeld as chair, Ron Brussey as vice chair and Tom Murphy as clerk.

Board members then discussed the need for a design‑review liaison. Staff explained that the design‑review district covers the town center and that the liaison, ideally an architect or designer, advises on exterior improvements that affect the town’s New England character — facades, trim, color and landscaping. After a short discussion, a motion to appoint Tom as the liaison was made and approved.

A recommendation was also forwarded to nominate Gary Whitehouse as an alternate (associate) member. Staff explained that alternates attend when regular members are missing and vote only when their participation is needed; the board agreed to coordinate a joint meeting with the Select Board to formalize the appointment.

Those procedural decisions concluded the board’s reorganizational business for the evening.
