Board confirms debris‑removal subcommittee and consents to Corps–state preservation agreement

John Chocolley presented two administrative items for board consideration. First, he reviewed a resolution to confirm membership of a debris‑removal and restoration subcommittee formed under a prior agreement resolving upstream coalition claims; the lands committee recommended the resolution and the board approved it by roll call.

Second, staff asked the board to consent to a memorandum of agreement between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and a North Dakota state historic preservation office covering relocation of historic cabins and protection of archaeological artifacts. Chocolley said the authority is not a direct party to the agreement but was asked to consent because the agreement affects program costs; he said all program costs were already included in the cash budget. The board moved, seconded and approved consent to the MOA by roll call.

Chocolley offered to answer questions and noted the subcommittee will address high‑level policy questions about post‑operation cleanup and restoration.
