The Steuben County Council on June 14 approved a series of smaller appropriations, transfers and administrative actions in a single session.
Pam Feller, Chief Probation Officer, requested a one-time seed grant appropriation of $5,000 received through a JDAI grant; the council approved the appropriation (motion carried, 6 ayes). Jennifer Sharkey requested a transfer of $136,400 in unspent appropriations from Bike Trail Project Phase I to a new line item for Bike Trail Design Phase II in the Major Moves Construction Fund; the transfer was approved.
Commissioners asked the council to authorize $14,972.68 from County General to cover legal fees for work by Kirk Grable and Barnes & Thornburg; council approved the payment. The council also approved a transfer of $8,155.20 within the 2013 Bond Fund to cover a deficit on the Sheriff vehicle line. Deb Lewis, WIC Coordinator, requested intra-fund transfers totaling $1,203 within the Women, Infants and Children Fund (#8210) for line-item adjustments; those transfers were approved.
The council approved the CF-1/Real Property form for XPOLogistics Freight, Inc. (formerly Con-way Freight Inc.), finding the property owner in substantial compliance. The meeting record shows the council received various correspondence and reports, including county park and engineer reports, State Board of Accounts memorandum on local match grant funds, Soil & Water Conservation minutes, USI recaps and hospital correspondence.
All items noted above were approved by motions recorded in the minutes; each motion was carried with six ayes as documented.
