Avon PZC approves appraiser list and plans limited zoning revisions required by state law

Avon — In business conducted outside the consolidated public hearing, the Planning and Zoning Commission on May 19 approved an updated real estate appraisers list and reviewed next steps for mandatory zoning code revisions under Public Act 25‑1.

Commissioner Clay Stevenson moved to approve the appraiser list with the added requirement that license numbers, expiration dates, and the list creation date be included; Commissioner Joseph Gentile seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Staff agreed to add the requested fields and return an updated list.

Director of Planning Hiram Peck told the commission that SLR Consulting will prepare the limited zoning amendments required by PA 25‑1 and that he will circulate a redline version and a summary of changes. Peck asked commissioners to submit candidate consultant names for POCD interviews within a week; staff expects the hearing on the PA 25‑1 revisions to be scheduled in July.
