Cobb County Parks says Central Aquatic Center will reopen July 6; Fair Oaks and Al Bishop to get turf and court upgrades

Cobb County Parks staff told Commissioner Eric Allen that several facility renovation projects will occur this summer and into the fall, including a planned reopening date for the Central Aquatic Center.

Amari Ramsey, Recreation Coordinator I, said the Central Aquatic Center — described in the recording as one of the county’s oldest aquatic facilities — will reopen on July 6 after renovations that include restrooms and locker-room work. She said the work recognizes the age of the facility and is intended to update user amenities.

Ramsey also outlined field and court upgrades at Fair Oaks: the county plans to install synthetic turf on select fields, add pickleball courts, and resurface basketball and tennis courts.
