Mayor reports rapid pool construction progress and outlines packed July 4th week of community events

The Mayor told the council that pool construction is progressing quickly: the deep end has been excavated, drainage tile is in place, rebar and concrete work are scheduled and contractor Garmong will begin bathhouse footers this week.

The mayor also provided a detailed schedule of summer events spanning June 27 through July 5. Highlights include a Touch-a-Truck event June 27, a church service June 28, a Kidfest inflatable event June 29, an 80s/90s trivia night June 30, bingo July 1, a Fish Fry July 2, a tribute band July 3, a veterans breakfast and parade on July 4 and Rotary Corn Day on July 5. The mayor said proceeds from certain activities will support local nonprofits, including donations to the senior center from a veterans breakfast fundraiser.
