Lower Pottsgrove Township’s planned Adventure Grove project is contingent on outside funding, township staff told the Parks and Recreation Board at the March 23, 2026 meeting.
Administrative Assistant Samantha Cronrath said the township has a new engineering proposal for Adventure Grove and has applied for PRCA and DCNR grants. She said township staff met with county officials to explore a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), but the county determined CDBG was not a good fit and will recommend that funding for other projects next year. Cronrath said the project will not move forward without securing the necessary grant support.
Board member Thomas Orlando asked for an update on how much funding Adventure Grove currently has; Cronrath said the township is requesting funds and that project advancement depends on grant success. Thomas C. Troutman reiterated ongoing community activities in the township, including work by the Lower Pottsgrove Township Historical Society, but did not offer new funding figures.
The board did not take a formal vote on the project at the meeting. Cronrath said she and Ms. McCloskey had met with county staff regarding CDBG eligibility but that the county suggested other priorities for that grant program in the coming cycle. The township’s next steps are to await decisions on PRCA and DCNR applications and to pursue other applicable funding avenues.
Because the project’s scope and budget remain dependent on grant awards, no implementation timeline was given at the meeting.
