Spring ISD board convenes closed session under Texas Open Meetings Act, then adjourns

After concluding student presentations and awards, President Durant announced the board would convene a closed session under the Texas Open Meetings Act, citing sections 551.071, 551.072, 551.074, 551.076 and 551.089. She stated no votes would take place in closed session and that any action resulting from closed-session discussion would be taken in open session after reconvening.

The board reconvened open session at about 10:08 p.m. Trustee Adams moved to adjourn the meeting; Trustee McDaniel seconded. President Durant called the vote by raised hands and announced the motion carried unanimously. The meeting adjourned at approximately 10:09 p.m.

No votes or substantive actions from the closed session were recorded in the meeting transcript; President Durant said any actions resulting from the closed session would be taken in open session later if needed.
