Adair County Commission approves BNSF signal and gate upgrades at two crossings

Presiding Commissioner Mark Shahan moved and Commissioner King seconded a motion to sign BNSF paperwork authorizing signal-and-gate installations at the Clemson Lane and Century Lane rail crossings; the commission voted unanimously to approve the signing.

The form under review was identified in commission records as the State of Missouri "Voluntary Waiver of Rights to Hearing and Consent to Issuance of Administrative order Authorizing Proposed Public Highway/Rail Crossing Construction or Safety Improvement Project." The commission said BNSF had opened a comment period and that no community objections were filed. The county also consulted the Missouri Department of Transportation (MODOT), which indicated it did not recommend a hearing.
