Council approves minutes, bills, sidewalk aid and motions to pursue ordinance cases

The Winchester council handled several routine approvals and enforcement motions during the meeting.

Chair (S1) presided as the council approved the minutes from a March 12 special meeting and the March 16 minutes after a motion by Committee member (S3) and a second by Director (S2); the motion passed by voice vote and the chair recorded a 3-0 tally.

On accounts payable, the council approved $92,501.69 in claims after a brief review of invoice line items, including repair parts and labor related to a lift-station project.

The council approved a sidewalk reimbursement application for Russ Jackson at 621 Northeast Street for a $775 materials bill; the city will pay 70% of the material cost. Committee member (S3) moved to approve and the motion carried by voice vote.

Agency official (S6) reviewed long-running ordinance violations and several case numbers; Committee member (S3) moved to proceed with filings in Superior Court by address/case number and the council voted to authorize staff to file the cases. Later, the council voted to deny a sewage-affidavit extension request for a property under a land trust that had not been rehabilitated after a prior one-year extension.

The meeting adjourned by unanimous voice vote.
