Moberly Council approves equipment purchases, appropriations and routine resolutions

Moberly — At its Monday meeting the city council approved a package of procurement and administrative items, including state‑bid equipment purchases and routine resolutions.

Council accepted a state contract price of $116,282 for a backhoe for the utilities department and accepted a state bid for a dump truck (just over $96,000). Both bids were presented by staff as coming through the state procurement process and were accepted by council without further debate.

The council also completed first and second readings and approved an ordinance to amend a purchase‑option agreement with MGB Investments LLC; the council clarified during discussion that the updated option cost is $10. A resolution was approved accepting a charitable donation from Plum Rose USA and a change order with Biddle Professional Services for additional infield dirt mix (approximately 25 extra tons to ensure correct grade) was authorized.

Council approved an appropriation resolution authorizing $249,838.43 to be appropriated from the treasury of the city of Moberly. Staff certified fund availability as required for the appropriation.
