Lynn, speaking during the commission's agenda review, said an amendment to a previously approved resolution for Meadowlake Beach (Second Edition) is before the board after bids came in higher than expected.
Lynn said the developers raised their petition amount to cover the full cost and submitted the new petition to the county. "This is, basically, an amendment of a resolution you guys have already passed for Meadowlake Beach second edition," she said, and added that the petition is 100% signed by the developers and that no construction has begun.
Staff told commissioners the county will run the resolution amendment concurrently with a bid-board item to accept project bids, allowing the board to consider both the petition amendment and the contractor awards at the same meeting. Commissioners and staff acknowledged the project has been under consideration since March and that county staff have worked with the developers to process the revised petition and bids.
Clerk-level staff also noted this round of bidding was competitive, and that accepting the bids and the petition amendment will be related actions the board must decide together. No formal motion or vote on the matter was recorded in the agenda review; the item is scheduled for the bid board portion of the meeting.
What happens next: The commission will consider the bid-board recommendations and the amended resolution concurrently at the scheduled agenda item. Construction has not started and the petition was described as complete and submitted by the developers.
