Nicole told commissioners the meeting would include recognition of two award recipients from the American Jail Association and that the county finance team received an award for its financial reporting. "We have 2 award recipients from the American Jail Association that will be here," she said, and she reminded the public that the budget simulator closes June 7.
Staff also said the county will present annual mini MPA certificates to roughly 10 employees with Dr. Stephanie Newbold and Dr. Umairi from WSU participating, and that the comprehensive financial report presentation (moved earlier on the agenda) will be led by 'Hope' with the county's external auditor in attendance. Kelly Anderson of the extension center is scheduled to give a general presentation about extension center activities and plans.
The announcements are informational items on the agenda; commissioners did not take formal votes during the agenda preview. The presentations are scheduled during the public meeting and will provide staff and auditors an opportunity to summarize recent financial reporting and outreach work. The budget simulator reminder aims to increase public participation before the June 7 closing date.
