The Yamhill County Board of Commissioners voted May 28 to approve several health and behavioral‑health actions: a replacement agreement between Yamhill County Health & Human Services and Lines for Life (replacing board order 16‑518), an amendment to an Oregon Health Authority agreement for $177,284.87 to finance community behavioral‑health services, and authorization for HHS director Lindsey Manfren or her designee to submit a $35,000 funding application to the Yamhill County Community Care Organization to support suicide‑prevention coalition activities.
During discussion board members emphasized that the Lines for Life contract is separate from the statewide 988 system. A commissioner noted the county maintains its own 24/7 referral capacity and that youth calls are routed to the county’s office. “It’s a well used and much needed” service, one commissioner said, describing immediate crisis response through community outreach specialists and follow-up services arranged through county staff.
On the $35,000 CCO application, commissioners and staff described planned youth outreach efforts, including the Green Bandana Project — a school‑based peer‑support visibility effort — and ideas for targeted media and tailored programs focusing on making male‑focused mental‑health messaging more approachable.
The board also approved a $5,000 Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant agreement with the State Library of Oregon for the period through Sept. 30, 2026, and accepted the OHA amendment that funds community mental‑health, addiction treatment, recovery and problem‑gambling services through June 30, 2027.
Each of these items passed by unanimous voice vote.
