Tiff Miller, executive director of the South Davis Recreation District, told the Bountiful City Council on May 26 that the district closed 2025 with stronger revenues and rising participation and outlined several near- and longer-term capital needs.
Miller said annual-pass revenue and audited financial revenues were each about $74,000–$76,000 higher in 2025 than in 2024. "We had almost 576,000 people in for admittances last year," she said, and reported about 32,500 program participants in 2025. The district recorded about 19,300 members at year-end 2025, roughly 9,300 of whom were from Bountiful (about 48 percent of membership).
Completed 2025 projects included replacement of ice-dasher boards, replastering of the outdoor pool, resurfacing work in the pool hallway and replacement of some fitness equipment. Miller said demand for ice time and hockey rentals has surged, limiting available open-ice slots and contributing to revenue increases.
Miller described an operational challenge earlier in the year when the district's nationwide registration software went down for five to six days, temporarily preventing new membership and program sign-ups. She thanked city staff for helping the district process daily admissions and credit-card payments during the outage.
On near-term capital priorities Miller highlighted locker-room improvements, a potential new ADA member entrance on the north side of the building, and a planned parking-lot replacement next year. She said the membrane on the facility roof will likely require replacement in a few years and that some projects remain in very preliminary stages; the district is discussing potential partnerships with the school district and with North Salt Lake on future options.
Council members thanked Miller for the update; there were no formal votes recorded during the work session.
