The court admitted the last will and testament presented for the estate of John (John) Betzold and appointed Jeffrey Kirk Betzold as personal representative without bond.
Amy Glenn, attorney for petitioner Jeff Betzold, asked the court to admit the copy of the will and to appoint Betzold as personal representative. Jeffrey Kirk Betzold was sworn and confirmed the will was accurate and that he had used the decedent’s durable power of attorney in prior care decisions.
The court found venue in Lenawee County appropriate and that the heirs had been properly served. Finding no objections on the record and that supervised administration would be an unnecessary burden on the estate, the judge signed orders admitting the will dated Feb. 19, 2017, issued letters of authority, and appointed Betzold to serve as personal representative.
The court noted one administrative form (an acceptance addendum regarding protected personal identifying information) remained unsigned and that the clerk’s office may follow up to complete that paperwork. The court excused the parties and closed the matter.
