Liberty County approves $322,927 construction award for WCID No. 5 under state grant

The Liberty County Commissioners Court on May 26 authorized a construction contract recommendation for WCID No. 5 under Community Development Block Grant Project CDV23-0495 and delegated signature authority to the county judge.

County staff reviewed the bid tabulation and told the court the recommendation in the packet was for Solid Bridge Construction at $322,927. Staff explained the project is a grant pass-through and that the award is being paid from the grant or precinct funding associated with the project rather than county general funds. A staff member said some local entities sometimes apply directly for grants but that the county is acting as the pass-through for this project.

The court voted to approve the award and authorized execution of contract documents. County staff indicated procurement documentation and the recommendation letter were in the meeting packet.

The vote to approve the award was recorded by voice motion and second; no recorded dissent followed.
