Hamilton County schedules June 17 vote on proposed $1.115 billion FY2027 budget and 2026 tax levy

The Hamilton County Commission read Resolution 626-1 at its May 27 agenda meeting, proposing a $1,115,872,379 budget for fiscal year 2027 and setting the county's tax levy for 2026. The clerk told commissioners the item "will be voted on June 17th, 2026."

The reading was procedural; no vote occurred at the agenda meeting. The clerk also read Resolution 626-2, which would make appropriations to nonprofit, charitable and civic organizations for the July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027 fiscal year, and indicated that item is likewise targeted for a June 17 vote. Several smaller, district-level appropriations to schools, neighborhood groups and nonprofit organizations (Resolutions 626-6 through 626-15) were read for the record without discussion.

Commission leadership framed the readings as calendar housekeeping and scheduling. The commission's next steps are to place the items on the June 17 agenda for formal consideration and vote; until then, these items remain readings and have no operative effect.
