Board approves settlement, sends a case to ISC and issues two major disciplinary outcomes

During its disciplinary review session, the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners approved the agreed settlement orders, remedial plans and one consent order as presented by staff. The committee unanimously approved a motion to pull case 2024‑01083 from the pre‑ISC dismissal packet and send it to ISC for further consideration.

The committee considered two SOAH dockets: for Carissa Curtis (docket 5042525785), staff recommended adoption of the ALJ’s proposal to grant a dental assistant registration subject to a two‑year probated suspension; the committee adopted that order unanimously. For Miranda Lopez (docket 50426‑05804), the ALJ granted staff’s motion for summary disposition and staff recommended revocation; the committee adopted the order and revoked registration 136325.

Board staff noted no agreed administrative penalties in the packet and that modification requests were denied as presented. Where the committee voted unanimously, staff will forward the approved orders for final board ratification where required.
