Chickasaw supervisors approve several 4% pay increases effective July 1

The Chickasaw County Board of Supervisors approved several wage adjustments during its May 26 meeting ahead of the fiscal year 2026–27 implementation date.

Supervisor Steve moved and the board approved a 4% increase effective July 1 for two part‑time custodians, raising their pay from $17.00 to $17.68 per hour. The motion carried on a roll call vote with all supervisors voting in favor.

The board also approved a 4% increase for the land use administrator identified in the transcript as Ray Armell, with the motion moved by Supervisor Steve and seconded by Supervisor Scott. The board approved the increase on voice roll call.

A 4% increase for the safety coordinator, identified in the transcript as Renee Carrie, also passed after a motion by Supervisor Steve and a second by Supervisor Scott.

Staff said other wage items remain under review and that a comprehensive resolution to set FY26–27 wages and salaries will return to the board next week. The board emphasized the effective date of July 1 for the approved adjustments.

Motions and recorded votes: the two custodians’ hourly adjustment was moved by Supervisor Steve and carried on a unanimous roll call; the land use and safety coordinator adjustments were moved by Supervisor Steve and seconded by Supervisor Scott and also carried.
