The Oakdale City Council adopted ordinance 961 on May 26, 2026, revising the zoning code to regulate residential recreational vehicle storage.
Community Development Director Andrew Gzloff summarized prior workshops and Planning Commission review. The ordinance expands the definition of "recreational vehicle" to include boats, ATVs and snowmobiles, raises the residential allowance to three recreational vehicles, and institutes a registration and ownership requirement that prevents property owners from leasing storage space to third parties. The ordinance also clarifies that a recreational vehicle stored on a trailer counts as one vehicle and establishes a 20-foot maximum height for stored recreational vehicles.
Council members thanked staff and residents who provided feedback during the review process. After motion and second, the council adopted ordinance 961 and then adopted resolution 2026‑25 to publish the ordinance by title and summary.
Meeting materials contained the ordinance text and specific code references (chapter 25, article 25‑09, division 25‑9‑200, section 25‑009‑215).
