Three entrepreneurs presented a plan on May 26 for "Next Level Sports," a proposed 15,000-square-foot indoor sports complex in the Western Sussex Business Campus area of Seaford that would include an arena-style (120-by-60-foot) indoor soccer field, multiple pickleball courts and ancillary services.
Steven Malavage, Miguel Sez and Alexis Torres (who said she is commonly known as Kiki) said the facility would host youth and adult leagues, tournaments, skill clinics, senior programming and rentals. "It's going to be 15,000 square feet. It's going to have one soccer field 120 by 60 ft," Malavage said. Torres, who has run indoor soccer programs, said arena-style indoor soccer is fast-paced with shorter games that make tournaments feasible in a single day.
Presenters said they have signed a lease for the Western Sussex Business Campus location, plan to break ground at the end of June, install courts over the summer and hope for a grand opening in October. They said they were not seeking municipal funds but asked for support in outreach, business connections and promotional assistance. "What we are asking though is for your support, your partnership and your confidence in Next Level Sports Complex as an asset to Seaford," a presenter said.
Council members responded enthusiastically, highlighting local demand for indoor soccer and pickleball, possibilities for multi-day tournaments that would bring visitors and hotel stays, and the potential to collaborate with the Boys & Girls Club, schools and youth organizations. Several councilors offered to help connect the group to local businesses, chambers and marketing channels.
What happens next: presenters said they will continue design and construction planning and return to the city with updates; council members encouraged outreach to local leagues and business sponsors.
