Bardstown council awards $426,000 contract for John Rowan water tank repairs

The Bardstown City Council voted June 13 to award a $426,000 contract to G & L Tank Sandblasting and Coating, LLC for painting and repairs of the John Rowan water tank. Councilman David Dones moved to accept the bid; Councilman Franklin Hibbs IV seconded and the motion carried 6–0.

The contract covers painting and repairs to the John Rowan water tank. City Civil Engineer Jessica Filiatreau told the council the North Nelson Water Interconnect bid tab will be presented at the next meeting, but no action on that project was taken tonight.

Council members framed the vote as a standard public-works procurement to maintain water infrastructure. The award follows the city's bid process and was presented on the council agenda as the recommended award.

Next steps: the contract will proceed to execution with the successful bidder and city staff will return with additional updates or scheduling information as needed.
