Council approves consent agenda including multi‑million dollar warrants, TIF resolutions and water‑main contract

The Carbondale City Council approved the consent agenda, which included approval of minutes, multiple warrants, tax‑increment financing (TIF) redevelopment resolutions and a contract award for a water‑main relocation.

City staff listed the consent items: approval of regular meeting minutes from 04/28/2026; warrant No. 1536 for $2,419,225.27; warrant No. 1537 for $2,283,618.26; a Wells Fargo warrant for FY ’26 for $248,655.39; acceptance of minutes from boards, commissions and committees; reappointments to boards and commissions; and resolutions approving redevelopment agreements using TIF at 213 North Washington Street, 517 South Illinois Avenue and an amendment for 108 East Oak Street. The agenda also included an award of contract to Wiggs Excavating of Benton, Illinois for an Illinois 13 water‑main relocation (400–500 blocks of East Main Street) in the amount of $174,275.

A motion to approve the consent agenda was made and seconded. The clerk conducted a roll‑call vote; staff recorded yes responses from each member present and the motion passed.

The consent agenda consolidated multiple routine approvals and one contract award; council did not pull any items for separate discussion during the meeting.
