At a glance: Broward County votes May 26 — budgets, leases, contracts and appointments

At its May 26 meeting the Broward County Commission approved a slate of procedural and budget items with little debate.

Highlights of routine approvals: the board opened and advanced multiple public hearings (items 61–65) including a port lease amendment for Crowley Linder Services and a five‑year franchise renewal for Sun Terminals; quasi‑judicial item 66 (site plan and commercial flex allocation for a self‑storage facility in the Broward Municipal Services District) passed; the board adopted a series of budget resolutions (items 67–71) covering general fund, transportation trust funds, special revenue funds, capital funds and enterprise funds as read aloud by the clerk. Several votes on ordinances and contracts (items 74–75, 80 deferred) were carried unanimously.

The clerk recorded votes on the budget and public hearing items as approved by the board; any items requiring further paperwork or HUD approval were referred back to staff for implementation.
