Outgoing library board chair recommends reappointments, highlights Summer Reading kickoff

At the start of the meeting’s public-comment period, Wanda Bruce Graham, outgoing chair of the John P. Holt Brentwood Library Board, recommended that the commission reappoint Vice Chair Cheryl Wotko to a three‑year term and appoint Cindy Franklin to the library board of trustees.

Graham described both candidates as experienced volunteers with institutional knowledge important to ongoing projects, including a quiet room and a major renovation of the teen space. "Cheryl has been a tremendous support to me as chair ... she provides exceptional input at all of our space planning committee meetings," Graham said. She also encouraged commissioners to attend the Summer Reading kickoff on Friday, May 29, from 3 to 5 p.m.

The chair thanked Graham for her service, and commissioners publicly acknowledged her contributions to the library and election commission. The reappointments and new appointment were placed on the commission’s upcoming June 8 agenda for formal consideration and action.
