Priceville council approves resolutions, equipment purchases and asks for turn-lane cost estimate

Priceville Town Council approved a package of routine items and purchases in a single meeting with unanimous votes.

The council approved the minutes and adopted the meeting agenda. It authorized payment of bills on the docket and approved a question on fireworks funding that staff said is intended to support Music in the Park on July 12 and is expected to be covered by a forthcoming grant.

On resolutions, the council approved Resolution 2026-06 to implement provisions of Act 608 that provide a one-time lump-sum payment to eligible retirees; staff said the total payment for the jurisdiction is $2,162 (total for all retirees, not per person). The council also adopted the annual Municipal Water Pollution Prevention resolution (Resolution 2026-04), which staff said must be adopted each year.

On purchasing and contracting, the council approved a purchase of mosquito-control chemicals from Clark Mosquito Control for $8,697.50 to cover the remainder of the year; it approved a $10,410 contract with Quality Paving to resurface and seal the walking trail at Veterans Park; and it approved purchase of two mowers from Frederick's Outdoors for $23,426 for use at the new Nick's property.

A council member asked the city engineer to develop a cost estimate for adding a right-turn lane on Skidmore/Case Springs Road to understand construction and utility costs; the council approved the request. Toward the end of the meeting a resident (identified in the transcript as Mr. Snyder) reported he had received an update about dehumidifiers at the event center.

All routine motions, purchases and resolutions recorded on the agenda were approved by unanimous voice or roll-call votes during the meeting. The council adjourned following the final motion.
