Votes at a glance: Cullman City Council approves multiple event permits, procurement awards, sidewalk grant application and other routine resolutions

The Cullman City Council carried a slate of routine and substantive resolutions by voice vote. Actions approved included special-event permits (Vacation Bible School, a Chamber 'Tasty Tuesday' series, a scavenger-race event and a Friends of the Public Library 5K), multiple procurement awards for concrete, plumbing, electrical, excavation, rock and piping materials and paving services, and applications and contracts for infrastructure projects (a FY2027 TAP grant application for ADA sidewalks and an AIP-funded taxiway rehabilitation contract administered by Goodwin Mills Cawood).

The council also approved a tax abatement package for 'Project Panel' (10-year abatement for a $5.3 million phase-one investment), adopted a resolution to begin nuisance-property procedures for two addresses with a June 22 public hearing, reaffirmed a contingent guarantee covering 50% of sanitary landfill closure/post-closure financial assurance, and approved a one-time retiree lump-sum payment (estimated city cost $57,520).
