Yerington, Nev. — The Yerington Planning Commission on May 27, 2026 approved two land-use actions and reviewed documentation for a separate reversion-to-acreage application affecting two Silver Star Court parcels.
In procedural business drawn from the minutes, the commission voted unanimously to approve a parcel map submitted by D.G. Smith Enterprises on behalf of Grand Estates LLC for APN 001-011-44 (168 Goldfield Ave.). Commissioner Travis Crowder moved to approve the parcel map with the condition that city staff verify public-utility easements and water/sewer locations before the matter is forwarded to City Council; Commissioner Keith Trout seconded the motion and it carried without dissent.
The commission also approved a boundary line adjustment requested by Peri & Peri LLC for APNs 001-561-07 and 001-541-23 (54 N. Hwy 95A and 107 McLeod St.). Eric Anderson of Bighorn Consulting said the adjustment is intended to accommodate a cooling crate on the Walker River Cooling parcel. Commissioners discussed zoning compatibility; staff advised that a City Council zoning update scheduled for May 11, 2026 would address compatibility concerns. Commissioner Keith Trout moved to approve the boundary-line adjustment; Commissioner Leo Solari seconded and the motion passed unanimously. A member of the public, Robin Biggs, approached the microphone but did not make a comment.
Separately, the commission’s packet included a Reversion to Acreage application filed by Greg Chico, PLS, on behalf of property owners Vincent and Jessica Arrighi for APNs 001-131-20 and 001-131-21 on Silver Star Court. The application materials on file list required attachments (a survey map matching recorded subdivision dimensions, an 11-by-17 map set, an abutting-owners list, utility statements for abandonment, and a $1,000 filing fee). Lyon County records attached to the packet show property taxes for the two parcels were certified as paid on April 7, 2026. The submitted plat and survey list the combined parcel area as 19,695.74 square feet (about 0.45 acres).
The transcript and packet indicate the reversion materials were presented for review and contain the owner certificates (notarized) and the surveyor’s plat; the record does not show a final Planning Commission decision on the Arrighi reversion during the segments provided. Next steps for that item would be formal action and a recommendation to the Yerington City Council if the commission takes a vote at a subsequent meeting.
Documents referenced in the packet include recorded deeds and the Silver Star Subdivision map (Doc. 172124) and coordination notes referencing the Walker River Irrigation District. The meeting minutes record routine approvals and the adjournment of the earlier meeting whose minutes were presented. The Planning Commission Secretary is Stacey Larsen; interim City Manager Jerry Bryant and Public Works Director Paul Shapiro appear in the minutes as staff participants.
