Commission tentatively approves Dan Hill Construction bid for fire training center pending compliance review

During the May 22 meeting, county staff opened three bids for the planned fire training center: Accelerated Construction Services, Dan Hill Construction, and Gonde Enterprises. The clerk read bid figures into the record; Dan Hill’s line items were reported as the lowest overall.

County staff said the commission should approve the low bidder subject to a compliance check by the fire association and verification that bidding requirements were met. "Dan Hill has the lowest bid by far," a staff member said as the board moved to approve the bid pending review. Commissioners approved the motion with a second and directed staff and the fire association to verify compliance before final award.

The commission did not finalize a signed contract at the meeting; the motion approved only contingent award pending compliance review.

County staff will return to the commission with verification materials and a recommendation for final award.
