Brookshire council approves voluntary annexation of roughly 10.6-acre tract near FM 362

Brookshire City Council voted to approve an ordinance granting a petition to voluntarily annex a roughly 10.599-acre tract out of the H&TC Railroad Company survey (Abstract No. 197) in Waller County.

Staff told the council the parcel sits at FM 362 near Stella Road and is surrounded by an existing trucking operation to the north and city territory to the north of that. The developer has requested annexation to receive city services and intends to pursue a small logistics/distribution development with several buildings and some retail at the FM 362 corner once engineering is complete and permits are obtained.

The council opened the statutorily required public hearing; no members of the public addressed the item and the hearing record was closed. A motion to approve the ordinance was made and carried on the council floor. The ordinance number was referred to in the record (2674916 / motion referenced 26-549-16). Staff said the developer will schedule pre-development and permit work and expect construction to proceed after engineering submittals are completed.
