Nicole Peas, principal at Dublin Consolidated School, introduced Heather Fletcher and a group of first- through fourth-grade students who presented a year-in-review of community activities.
Students (Ross, Zoe, Avery, Addie) described Halloween parades through town, a Veterans Day project that produced 70 thank-you letters and an assembly attended by veterans, caroling at nursing homes with 70 handmade ornaments, a kindergarten-led goal to collect 100 food items that grew to 160 donated items for the Dublin food pantry, and a town peace-bowl dedication. They noted ongoing connections with local police—Chief Swako and Officer Deltario visit monthly and participate in recess and kickball—and invited the public to the monthly community lunch and an upcoming Memorial Day assembly followed by placing 300 flags at Dublin Cemetery.
Principal Peas thanked the board for hosting the presentation, highlighted the school’s relationship with community volunteers and the superintendent, and encouraged attendance at community events.
The board applauded the students at the conclusion of the presentation. No board action resulted from this item; it was presented as a “Points of Pride” recognition.
