At the meeting the board president delivered an informational report covering retiree recognition events, Cache Education Foundation activities, finalized legislative priorities and an administrative change to trust-lands submissions.
She thanked district staff for retirement celebrations recognizing employees and noted school-level retirement parties are ongoing. She said she attended the final Cache Education Foundation board meeting this school year and that the foundation set dates for its annual golf tournament in the first week of August and for the Christmas tree jubilee on the Monday before Thanksgiving. She also said Terry Lewis has been delivering “hats off” awards and classroom funds to teachers.
The board president and another participant (Todd) attended a joint legislative committee meeting with school board members, superintendents and business administrators, and they finalized prior legislative priorities; she said the Utah School Boards Association (USBA) would distribute details to members.
She reported to the state trust-lands advisory committee that the district will move its trust-lands due date from May into June so principals have more time to prepare plans; she said the district is aligning trust-lands plans with its TSSA plans so both sets of plans can be reviewed together.
The board president said she sent email language to board members for accepting graduates next year so those accepting graduates will be prepared. No policy decisions or votes on these informational items were recorded in the public portion of the meeting.
