Budget passes with supermajority; two incumbents win school board seats

The Bronxville Union Free School District reported the results of the recent budget vote and school election and moved to adopt routine post-election resolutions.

Officials reported 542 total votes cast plus eight affidavit ballots (529 machine votes and 13 absentee ballots). The budget proposition recorded 356 votes in favor and 185 against as reported at the meeting; the presiding officer said that exceeded the approximately two-thirds threshold required for the proposition to pass.

In the school election, Sarah Kenny received 430 votes and Christina Skinner received 404 votes for two open board seats. The board proposed and approved three routine resolutions: accepting the unofficial results of the budget vote, acknowledging the budget amount, and authorizing district staff to consult with the village to pursue a tax warrant for the district levy (the figure cited during discussion was 50,473,210). The board then voted to accept those action items.

The board thanked the community for its participation and adjourned the meeting.
