The City of Whitehouse Economic Development Corporation on May 21 agreed to create a regular agenda space for the Whitehouse Chamber of Commerce executive director to brief the EDC on membership and promotional activities.
The idea grew out of board comments that the EDC and chamber already collaborate informally and that a standing update would improve coordination. "We already are collaborating on different things," the Chair said, adding that the chamber often refers business inquiries to the EDC and that a regular presence would help align activities.
Members discussed inviting the chamber executive director as a non-voting participant and allocating a short agenda slot for updates and question-and-answer. Staff said they would notify the executive director and schedule an appearance. The change is intended to support joint promotion of local businesses and to increase cross-referral of prospective members and developers.
The board did not take formal action beyond consensus to extend the invitation and requested staff circulate available dates for the first appearance.
