Student describes career pathways at Perris Union High

Sophia Lopez, an 11th-grade student, spoke about her experiences in school career pathways, saying she enjoys culinary classes for learning, teamwork and meeting new people. She described the biomemed (biomedical) pathway as having started about 10 years ago and currently enrolling about 410 students, noting graduates have gone on to nursing and medical school or into the workforce. Lopez said she is enrolled in Project Lead The Way, an engineering pathway, and encouraged peers interested in STEM and mechanical engineering to explore the program.
