The Forest Hills School District board voted May 20 to approve diplomas for 602 candidates listed for Anderson High School and Turpin High School.
Superintendent Larry Hook recommended that the board grant diplomas to the 602 candidates and noted the two graduation ceremonies scheduled for May 23 at Northern Kentucky University — Anderson at 10 a.m. and Turpin at 3 p.m. "It is my honor to recommend that the board of education of the Forest Hills School District approve the granting of diplomas to the 602 candidates listed on the attachments from Anderson High School and Turpin High School," the superintendent said.
A board member moved to approve and a second was given. The motion passed with the members present recording affirmative votes (Dr. Strickler, Mr. Nye, Miss Wazooi and Mr. Ward). The board did not record any no votes or abstentions on the motion during the meeting record.
The approval covers candidates listed at the time of the meeting and includes any student who enrolls in Turpin or Anderson after the listing date, provided they meet state and local requirements before graduation, the superintendent said. The board confirmed the district's plans for Saturday commencements.
Next procedural steps: the district will finalize diplomas and proceed with the scheduled ceremonies at Northern Kentucky University.
