The Board of Directors of the Apache Junction Water Utilities Community Facilities District on a unanimous vote approved Resolution 2026-001 to adopt a classification and compensation plan for fiscal years 2026–27.
District director Mike told the board the district’s market study found about 75% of positions were below market value and recommended raising pay levels to be more competitive. Mike said the proposal results in an average increase across positions of 8.8% and that staff are projecting a 9.5% increase to health insurance premiums.
Board members moved and seconded the resolution; the roll call recorded all members voting yes and the motion passed. The board’s action declared as a public record and adopted the district’s classification and compensation documents and the flat and hourly schedules for FY 2026–27.
The board did not detail phased implementation dates in the meeting discussion beyond staff’s description of the plan; the district director indicated staff will proceed with implementation consistent with the adopted schedule and return to the board as necessary for administration and budgetary adjustments.
The board then moved on to the district budget discussion and related agenda items.
