Dripping Springs honored 12‑year‑old Trevor Dubransky at its May 19 council meeting after city and county officials said his quick action helped save a neighbor’s life.
Trevor’s family accompanied him to the dais as officials described how he noticed a door open and what appeared to be a pool of blood, raced home to alert his father and provided the address that led to a 911 call. Hays County Sheriff Anthony Hippolito presented Trevor with a life‑saving award dated May 19, 2026, and a challenge coin. Hippolito credited Trevor’s participation in a junior deputy academy for giving him the confidence to act: "Trevor, you are a hero," the sheriff said, noting Trevor attended the junior deputy program three years in a row.
Representatives from local emergency medical services and the sheriff’s outreach team were present and applauded Trevor’s composure. Council and the audience gave Trevor extended applause and recognition for his actions.
Trevor and the first responders were thanked for their service and for demonstrating the value of community training programs in supporting public safety.
